I recently had a very deep chemical peel and after about 2 months, my skin started to break out and I have never had acne in my life. My dermatologist only suggests using Elta products after the peel so I decided to try to recovery serum. It is the only thing that heeled my skin and cleared up the acne. I will never use any other products again . . . it's Elta from now on!!

This stops redness from irritation and (so far) has completely prevented peeling after using too much retinol. The serum is light and deeply hydrating. It sinks in quickly, so a lot is needed to cover the face. This is a little too expensive for me to use as a daily moisturizer, but I love it for spot application to instantly stop skin irritation. Some reviewers have mentioned there is a scent, but I like it. It is slightly earthy and reminds me a little of sage tea.
