My quest for the perfect sunscreen began early this year when i started using Vit C/Retinol products. I started off with mineral sunscreens but they gave me the geisha look. Even the tinted ones were not deep enough and still showed up on my skin. Then, i found this one, mineral + chemical combo. I have an oily, acne-prone, acne scars, brown skin. I have used this ss for about 6 months now. Positives include it is light, works well under make-up & does not make me break-out. Negatives include it pills if you rub it too hard (you have to lightly apply it and apply fast too). A big negative for me is that it still gives a white sheen on my skin. Even though the ss says Clear, it is not really clear on brown skin if you apply liberally as you should. So, I always have to apply make-up when wearing it for work. I have resigned myself to the fact that as long as the zinc is present, it will show on my skin. On the weekends, i use another sunscreen. If the white sheen factor was not present, this would end my search for my HG sunscreen!

Easy to apply, feels great on the skin and does not make you appear white. Not water resistant so not good for any time you may be sweating, also Zinc Oxide is not the best full UVA blocker so would use something stronger for all day in the sun but perfect for the to and from work exposure.

I just started using this particular EltaMD suncreen, but have used many of their other products for several years. I ordered this one for my daughter, who is acne prone, so it is an excellent alternative for teens who want to protect their face from the harsh effects of the sun, while also keeping the skin clear of blemishes. It is every effective for my daughter, and I also use it and alternate with my other EltaMD products. This product line is absolutely outstanding, and I highly recommend it. Tint color doesnt apply evenly
Have tried samples of this and always liked it, however the bottle I just ordered goes on very patchy with the tinted color. Its not overly noticeable inside with poor lighting- I noticed it when I was outside in the sun- my skin was splotchy with the color. Very disappointed. Otherwise I really like the product. Just dont buy the tinted version.

The best sunscreen is one which you will use everyday and I use this sunscreen on myself and my two children everyday! I have hyper-pigmentation on my face and have undergone expensive and painful laser procedures to try to lighten the dark patches of skin. I use this sunscreen everyday to help keep the dark patches from returning/ getting darker. I put this sunscreen on my childrens faces (ages 6 and 10) every morning before school to protect their skin during outdoor recesses. This sunscreen is the first one that my children havent complained about because it isnt greasy, smelly, doesnt make their skin shiny and doesnt leave white patches or streaks.

I dont know if its better than the SkinCeuticals UV Fusion sunscreen though, Ive been using that stuff for the past 6 months now, but EltaMD does feel great. I received a sample size of this with my LovelySkin.com order. Although it is touted for its lightweight, non-greasy texture, I found it to be quite the opposite. It felt very greasy going on, but when it dried down to a more skin-like finish, it pilled quite badly. I appreciate that its fragrance-free, but the smell is like burnt plastic. I dont think I could wear this under my makeup on a daily basis. Oiliness is an occasional problem for me, so perhaps I need something more mattifying. I would actually recommend this for dry skin. It doesnt leave a white cast, so it will work with darker skin tones. However, if shine bothers you, you may need to add a little powder over the top.

perfect sunscreen for sensitive skin
I have tons of allergies and really sensitive skin. This sunscreen is so light and not greasy at all and the huge bonus is it doesnt give me a rash or make me breakout. its very effective and i think has actually improved my overall skin quality. You do need to reapply but its fine over makeup doesnt seem to clog pores at all. I love it and always stock up when its on sale!
