This is a thick, occlusive white balm. It has zinc oxide in it. I've used it post-procedure (lasers/peels). It is simple and made for a specific purpose. I wouldn't recommend using it if you have acne or as a day-to-day product under SPF but it is good as a moisturizing treatment when needed.

This cream is really good when I get a little red and dry from my retin a routine. I mostly use it at bedtime. It is heavy and kind of hard to rub in so I find that it's best to put little tiny dots of it all over my face and then pat it in gently instead of rubbing so much. It is soothing for irritated skin but it's not something I would use as a daytime moisturizer.

It is too greasy for me to use in the summer months as I live in a hot, humid climate. But I have been using it at night on some callous and dry spots and it has helped a lot. Will keep this on hand for emergencies when flaking occurs.

That’s when I realized Avene puts mineral oil in a lot of their products. Mineral oil is a no go for my skin. If yours is good with it though, then I would recommend this.
