LovelySkin is pleased to announce the move to its new headquarters, which is 75,000 square feet large. This state-of-the-art facility will allow us to offer more brands, quicker shipping (due to new automation and closer proximity to a major interstate) and better spaces for our valued employees.

A strategic location brings new opportunities

The extra space will facilitate the acquisition of new brands, which means we can bring you even more of your beauty favorites. What’s more, this LovelySkin landmark is located in Gretna, NE, a suburb of Omaha, and is adjacent to Interstate 80, making the warehouse even more accessible to all major carriers. This allows for more frequent pickups and even faster shipping times on customer orders.

As one of the first major facilities to open near the up-and-coming Gretna Logistics Park and Nebraska Crossing outlet mall, which is currently undergoing a $3.2 billion expansion plan, the new LovelySkin distribution center leads the way for a future of growth in the Gretna area.

The new multi-use facility is smartly designed for future expansion and optimizes warehouse operations and customer order fulfillment. It also provides comfortable, collaborative workspaces for business, technology and customer care teams, ensuring even better service for LovelySkin customers.

Speaking on this milestone, board-certified dermatologist and LovelySkin founder and CEO Dr. Joel Schlessinger said, “It is so exciting to share this wonderful new facility with our friends, family and extended staff. It has been a labor of love that took fifteen months to fully construct from start to finish, not to mention five years of planning.”

A look back on humble beginnings

It may be hard to believe now, but Dr. Schlessinger came up with the idea of LovelySkin in 1997, but it took two years to fulfill our first order. Then, in 1999, LovelySkin began by only fulfilling one to two orders a week out of our day spa! It wasn’t until 2000 that a designated fulfillment area was set up in a small office inside Dr. Schlessinger’s dermatology clinic.

LovelySkin’s first big move occurred in 2005, moving into a 2,000 square foot bay across from the clinic. Another five years later, a 16,000 square foot facility with a brick-and-mortar store, spa and support staff offices was opened to keep up with the significant growth that coincided with LovelySkin joining the Internet Retailer Top 40 Fastest Growing E-Commerce Companies.

In 2014, LovelySkin nearly doubled its size, expanding to over 30,000 square feet with the addition of a new loading dock and video studio. This allowed for the introduction of new brands and a big improvement to shipping times. During the pandemic, LovelySkin and its workers were essential to many individuals who couldn’t go out to purchase their products or had challenges due to facilities that were closed. In 2020, LovelySkin’s growth had become so substantial that it called for external warehouse space and a new, larger building for distribution and support staff teams alike. The search for the new facility’s location was on.

Fast forward to 2022, the land for the new distribution center was acquired, and by 2023, construction of the new 75,000 square foot space was underway. Just in time to celebrate its 25th anniversary, LovelySkin’s new home—and biggest expansion to date—was completed in 2024 and ready for its ribbon cutting ceremony.

Not only is LovelySkin still under the direction of board-certified dermatologist, cosmetic surgeon and Mohs surgeon Dr. Joel Schlessinger, but 2024 has also brought us the expertise of board-certified dermatologist, cosmetic surgeon and Mohs surgeon Dr. Daniel Schlessinger as our new Medical Director.
