Always on the cutting edge of skin care research, SkinCeuticals has announced the latest addition to its product lineup: SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced Corrective Cream. This new launch is SkinCeuticals’ most advanced anti-wrinkle cream yet. Intrigued? We’ll give you the answers to these questions:
SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced is a next-level anti-wrinkle cream formulated to prevent and correct signs of aging in mature skin. The word “advanced” is in the name precisely because it’s intended to help reverse advanced signs of aging, which include fine lines, wrinkles, crepiness and dullness. The product itself has a creamy, luxurious feel and a rich, satiny texture.
First things first, let’s start with breaking down the acronym A.G.E. It doesn’t mean “age” in this case, believe it or not! A.G.E. stands for advanced glycation end-products, which are key players in your skin’s natural process of aging. As you age, your skin undergoes a process called glycation, in which excess sugar molecules bind to elastin and collagen fibers in your skin. Once this takes place, advanced glycation end-products (A.G.E.) are formed. Once those elastin and collagen fibers turn into A.G.E., they essentially lose the ability to function normally, which leads to visible signs of aging, such as sagging, dullness, wrinkles and crepey texture.
SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced works by preventing the glycation process from happening, and it also helps correct existing signs of aging. This combination of prevention and correction helps essentially reverse signs of aging, so your skin looks younger and healthier over time.
You can use SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced to improve the appearance of fine lines as well as five different types of wrinkles on your face: crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, nasolabial folds, marionette wrinkles, glabellar wrinkles. In clinical trials, after twelve weeks of use, participants showed a 14% improvement in overall face lines.
Here’s a snapshot of the key ingredients that give SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced its potent anti-wrinkle powers:
Proxylane: This formula contains 18% Proxylane concentrate to help support skin integrity and correct visible signs of aging.
Wild fruit flavonoid blend: A 4.25% flavonoid blend containing blueberry and pomegranate extracts is rich in antioxidants and helps defend against glycation and prevent damage from free radicals.
Glycyrrhetinic acid: Derived from the licorice plant, 0.1% glycyrrhetinic acid works to help combat dullness and leave your skin looking more radiant.
HEPES: A 3% concentration of hydroxyethylpiperazine ethane sulfonic acid, or HEPES for short, helps hydrate and exfoliate by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells, revealing smoother, more glowing-looking skin.
Niacinamide: Last but not least, 1% niacinamide helps support your skin’s moisture barrier and smooth fine lines and wrinkles.
SkinCeuticals created A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced for mature skin that is showing advanced signs of aging, including crepey texture, sagging and wrinkles. As far as skin types go, it is a great choice for dry, normal, oil, combination and sensitive skin types.
SkinCeuticals launched its original A.G.E. Interrupter formula back in 2008. Backed by new science, A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced features a number of improvements and additions. While the original A.G.E. Interrupter formula contains a Proxylane solution, AGE Interrupter Advanced features a more potent Proxylane concentrate, which translates to 20% higher activity. While the original cream contained blueberry extract, the addition of pomegranate extract, the new Advanced formula gives the fruit flavonoid blend a 12.5% higher activity. The glycyrrhetinic acid, HEPES and niacinamide are also new active ingredients added to the new A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced formula.
You can use SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced twice daily as part of your a.m. and p.m. skin care routines. In the morning, you’ll want to apply it after your vitamin C serum and before your sunscreen. For the evening, if you use a retinol product in your regimen, we recommend applying it before layering on SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced as your last step.
