The experts from La Roche-Posay are here to share the latest news about their Lipikar line.
La Roche-Posay’s best-selling body cream is Lipikar AP+M Triple Repair Moisturizing Cream—and for good reason. Its 48-hour hydration effectively soothes dry, rough skin, and it’s also safe for every member of the family, from babies and children to adults. This cream made a name for itself as a gentle yet effective dermatologist-recommended body moisturizer that provides much-needed dry-skin relief. Now, it’s also making a positive impact on the environment thanks to newly launched packaging and sustainable sourcing as well. Ready to learn more? Follow along as we answer questions such as:
La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Repair Moisturizing Cream contains shea butter, glycerin, niacinamide, ceramide-3 and La Roche-Posay Thermal Water, which work together to replenish skin lipids, restore the skin’s barrier and support the skin’s microbiome. This cream is also fragrance-free and dermatologist-tested. Offering daily relief for dry, very dry and sensitive skin, it has a rich, comforting cream texture as well as a non-greasy, non-sticky finish. In addition receiving the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance, Lipikar AP+M is also safe for patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Patients should consult their medical professional prior to use and also should be sure not to apply the cream to broken skin.
Now you can restore and replenish your skin’s hydration with less environmental impact thanks to some exciting changes from La Roche-Posay. We are proud to announce that Lipikar AP+M is now available in eco-conscious packaging, including a 400-milliliter bottle made with 96% recycled plastic and a 200-milliliter tube that uses 60% less plastic than its prior version. With every bottle or tube of Lipikar AP+M you use, you can rest assured that you’re making a small difference when it comes to reducing landfill waste.
La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M is also made with solidarity-soruced shea butter. We have partnered with 20,000 women in Burkina Faso in West Africa to harvest the shea nuts used to create the shea butter used in every tube of Lipikar AP+M. All shea butter extraction is performed locally to help boost the rural economies where the shea nuts are grown. Part of this initiative also includes providing 1,500 higher-quality stoves for farmers in an effort to reduce smoke exposure and CO2 emissions. This upgraded equipment also helps prevent 3,000 tons of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere and preserves 1,500 tons of wood.
The solidarity-sourced shea butter found in La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M also benefits the West African women and communities that rely on its production for their livelihoods. The cooperatives work directly with both La Roche-Posay and the women farmers, which eliminates the middleman. Prices are agreed upon in advance of the harvest and local communities receive pre-financing. This means the cost of the harvest is paid before the harvest itself to lower the financial risk and burden on the cooperatives. Even more, this mutually beneficial arrangement also includes workshops designed to help develop organizational and business skills within the cooperatives.
