Valentine's Day Makeup Looks
by Marie|February 12, 2015
This Valentine’s Day, you may find yourself in an upscale restaurant enjoying a candlelit dinner or at home with a romantic movie and homemade meal. No matter where you are, you’ll want to make sure that you look your best. Here are some tried and true Valentine’s Day looks that are easy to create.
Classic red lip
Nothing says Valentine’s Day like a bold, red lip that you wouldn’t wear on a daily basis. After moisturizing your lips, line them with a precision pencil such as bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Liner in Amped. Then, fill them in with a bold shade like glo minerals GloLip Stick in Siren.
Smoky eye
If you’re planning a night out on the town, a smokey eye is the way to go. Go for a soft brown look by using jane iredale Triple Eye Shadow in Brown Sugar. Sweep the lightest shade all over the lid, apply the medium color to the crease and trace the outer V of the lid with the darkest shade. Blend well and finish with your favorite volumizing mascara.
Glowing skin
For a more casual Valentine’s Day look, nothing beats natural makeup and a glowing complexion. Use a tinted moisturizer and then apply DermaBlend Quick Fix Illuminator to the tops of your cheek bones, down the center of your nose and to the cupid’s bow.
Pretty pastels
Soft and sweet colors can be worn with a number of looks so you are ready for whatever. Use a shimmery lavender shade on the eyes such as Colorescience Loose Eyeshadow in Shimmer Light Mauve and pair it with a pink lip. A stain such as Stila Crush Lip & Cheek Stain in Raspberry Crush looks natural yet stays put so you don’t have to worry about reapplying.
