Reviews For EltaMD UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Facial Sunscreen
Great sunscreen but….
The lactic acid made my skin purge.

Doesn't layer well with other products
This doesn't seem to layer well with other products. If I have a serum or lotion on, and then I add the sunscreen, it pills up and I can't get it to work into the skin. It just sits on top or pills up.

Leaves an oily finish
My dermatologist recommended this to me. I want to like it. I can’t tell yet about its effectiveness as sun screen until I use it for a while longer. However, I don’t like the way it leaves an oily shiny finish, making it necessary to apply powder which defeats the purpose of a tinted sunscreen!

Broke me out
Sorry it broke me out. Titanium and zinc clogs my pores. 67 yrs old and it can still have breakouts. Usually use a none zinc sunscreen and makeup which works best for me.

Wish it worked better
I love the texture of this product, it goes on so light and absorbs quickly BUT when I used it before going out to work in the garden on a very hot day I had to reapply a couple times it didn't give me 100% protection (face and neck were pink at the end of the day). Still looking for a replacement for my chemical free sunscreen for sensitive skin that was discontinued.

Blemishes
I NEVER get blemishes and in 2 weeks of using this sunblock I’ve got 4! Having said that it’s really smooth to apply and disappears into your skin. However, I’ve had to quit using it. My daughter loves it and has had no issues, but she has very dry skin and mine is more normal to oily.

It's OK
I wish I could love this. My dermatologist recommended EltaMD and most dermatologists do, however it stings my face when I put it on and it will cause my skin to breakout. I have rosacea and I really had high hopes for this to work with my skin.

Elta sunscreen
Does not absorb completely and peels when you rub your skin following application or try to apply makeup on top of it.

Just okay
Initially it’s nice and smooth and gooey, but then it dries my skin out over time (I know mineral skins tend to do this, I just had high hopes!). All in all, I prefer the original as it dries me out less and looks great under makeup. I don’t burn with this however and I have sensitive skin with rosacea.

Irritating
I have used this daily spf for years and I love how smooth it goes on but it has recently been causing redness right after application.

Just ok
For all of the raving that this product receives, I was a bit disappointed. It feels watery and light and I prefer a little thicker coverage. The tint isn't much of a tint either. I won't purchase again.

Face felt a little stiff
So far I just used it once- uncertain how it is as sunscreen- since the weather where I live is not cooperating. It is a little drying- I think I will try mixing it with my moisturizer and see how that goes

Good sunblock, but too greasy for my skin
I'd been using EltaMD UV Shield Broad-Spectrum SPF 45 Oil-Free on my face and backs of hands for many years, recommended to me by the plastic surgeon who removed a very large pre-cancerous legion from the back of my hand. I'm in my 70's and have somewhat dry but sensitive skin and found it worked great for both applications, even on top of hyaluronic acid as well as moisturizer prior to application. It's recently been discontinued so tried EltaMD's untinted UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 Sunscreen instead. It may well be just me, but I found it to feel oily/greasy upon application and found the smell annoying, though others might not be troubled by it. The smell disappears over time but I found it to be off-putting. I'm moving on to trying other of EltaMD's sunscreens because I believe highly in the brand - this one just this one wasn't the right one for me.

Pretty Good
This is my first time using this product because the sunscreen product l was regularly using was discontinued. This is a good product, but because l have sensitive skin, it was a little too strong for me at first. Also a few pimples appeared in the beginning but went away. I have continued using it, since my skin seemed to calm down from its use, however l have not noticed any improved appearance of my skin with the extra ingredients in this product. Once this product is used up, l will start using the Elta MD Clear Broad Spectrum 46 Sunscreen that does not have all the extra ingredients and formulated for acne prone skin.

Product is good but the packaging could be better
This is my second time purchasing this sunscreen, but this time the product exploded inside the cap before I ever opened it. Some product was sadly wasted. Other than that I do enjoy this sunscreen and how lightweight it feels on the skin.

It's Okay
This sunscreen is okay. It isn’t my holy grail because it starts to pill around my jaw and forehead and also when I reapply it. Based on the price I think there are better options. I do like that it didn’t break me out and had a slight white cast. It also helped with my redness.

Good but not my favorite
I really enjoy the sport version of this sunscreen more than this one.

Caused Irritation for Sensitive Skin
First time purchasing tinted Elta MD. Was recommended to try tinted to add an extra layer of protection. After using multiple times, discovered it left my face stinging when my body temperature would rise. Love the brand, but this one particular did not work for me.
