I got this product as a sample, and I was so sad that I used it all in one sitting!! Don't make the same mistake I did. The sample alone could have easily been two to three uses. I think I was so intoxicated by the smell that I just kept squeezing it out. That being said, it worked well in terms of taking off all of my makeup though I didn't use it around my eyes as I like to take mascara off with a foaming cleanser. I am a believer in double cleansing as soon as I finish this other balm I have, I will likely be purchasing this as the smell alone is therapeutic and relaxing.

While I also love Eminence's eye makeup remover, this is the first face cleanser I've found that gets off of my eyes what makeup remover just doesn't always get. It's gentle, and when I add a few drops of water, it doesn't feel at all oily, and it does get my skin clean. My skin tends toward a little dry, so this is perfect. But, even though it has oil in it, my skin feels completely clean when I wash it off.

I was surprised this cleansing oil turned out to be as good as the gold standard Asian cleansing oils. This one is on the thicker side (not as thick as dhc olive though). If you have never tried cleansing oil, you apply to a dry face, massage in, emulsify with water, then rinse off. It removes all your sunscreen and eye makeup and does not leave any oil behind. Stone crop has a wonderful sharp herbal scent, to me it smells of citrus, bergamot and perhaps eucalyptus. It is the same scent as their toner and cleanser.

I've never really understood the idea of cleansing your face with an oil but had to try this due to the great reviews I read. I use it in the morning, as my only cleanser, and as the first step in my double cleansing process as night. It feels and smells lovely. I never understood how an oil can cleanse your face. I always thought, who would put "olive oil" on their face/body and think it will wash off in its entirety? I was quickly corrected when I was introduced to this cleanser at a spa. I have never wanted to wash my face more! I love that you can use it on its own or add a little water to make it emulsify. I don't even need to use eye makeup remover after cleansing, unlike other cleansers. It's worth every penny as not a lot of product is needed when washing your face.
