My doctor recommended this after I experienced blister burns from a laser. It helps with sun protection (along with sunscreen). Interestingly, I noticed that the "ultra" made a significant improvement in my facial sun spots even after a few days. I've been using Heliocare for a couple of years: first, the original formula and now, the Ultra formula. I play tennis for a few hours, several days a week along with other outdoor activities, and I have not had a sunburn in all of that time.
