One I keep coming back to
I often go hunting for other mineral moisturizers. However, many are not compatible with the SkinMedica line (e.g., have retinol or vitamin C which are not compatible with human growth factor). So, I keep com. ing back to this Essential Defense Mineral Shield.

THE BEST
I will wear this sunscreen until the day I die or the day it's discontinued, whichever comes first. It's the only mineral sunscreen that truly blends into the skin well - not even other brands that claim to be "clear" do that. Depending on my mood, I mix this with a pump or two of the tinted version for a nicer finish on the skin. It's truly excellent - the only mineral sunscreen I can confidently say I love.

This is a great untinted sunscreen. It doesn't leave a white cast, however I am a fair/moderate skin tone, so I can't speak for darker skin tones. It is a nice smooth texture and feels lovely when applying. Does an excellent job protecting my skin from burning without causing any irritation or breakouts.

I have been using this sunscreen for years now and it is the only one that does not break me out or cause some kind of reaction. I mix this untinted sunscreen with the tinted version to get a better color match. I do occasionally wear this on its own and it leaves a slight white cast. I love the two together! They do not irritate my skin or eyes and blend nicely into my skin.

Great broad spectrum sunscreen = amazing skin!
I've tried several sunscreens from drug store brands and expensive brands. I found this to be the best as it truly keeps my skin protected from the sun. Anytime I've spent time outside wearing this my skin never looks sun blotchy like it got sun. My skin tone looks the same as it did as if I just put on my serums. It glows. No white film left on the face. Make up goes on smoothly. Great for sensitive skin too. No breakouts. My dermatologist recommended this after I broke out from other brands. Love it! Also when I need to put more on later in the day if I'm outside a lot, it looks great over make up. Like really great. You can still see your makeup but it glows.

One of My Favorite SPFs
Any time I try something new, I always end up back at this Skinmedica SPF, and/or the tinted version of the same product. They go on so easily and are very moisturizing for my dry skin. It works really well under my make up. It's not water resistant so I typically just use this for days at the office. The white color rubs in very well and the tinted version looks dark when it comes out but also disappears and leaves just a tiny bit of color - it blends well, even though I have fair skin. My dermatologist always tells me that the best SPF is the one that you'll actually use - she's absolutely right. I've had other products that sit at my desk that I'm "supposed" to put on for my drive home to help shield my melasma but they are either too white or too chalky or are a mess to put on and get off your hands so I tend to avoid or forget, especially for the drive home. I keep one of these at my desk and don't mind putting it on at all.
