How-to Halloween: Mother Earth
by Marie|October 02, 2014
Get in touch with your inner goddess with this simple makeup tutorial for becoming Mother Earth. This Halloween makeup look can be modified to include different shades and colors so you can create your own personal spin on the costume.
After applying your favorite, long-lasting foundation, apply a hydration spray such as jane iredale POMMISST Hydration Spray to create a dewy look. You should keep this product with you throughout the night to rehydrate skin and keep your makeup in place.
Follow by applying a green eyeshadow around your face concentrating on the hairline and temples. For this Halloween makeup look, we used the green shade in the glo minerals GloEye Shadow Trio in Palm and blended it out with a large powder brush. Use a primer on the lids and then sweep a yellow shade of shadow across the entire lid. Add definition by applying the same green shadow you used on your face to the corners and creases of the eyes. To take this simple makeup tutorial to the next level, use a bright neon color in green or blue. You can also use other shades such as Mirabella Eye Colour in Clover or Sweet Pea to create a personalized look.
Using a soft brown liner such as jane iredale Eye Pencil in Basic Brown, line your eyes. Play with this step to create the illusion of leaves, twigs or branches near the eyes. Add your favorite brown mascara and brown eyebrow gel such as jane iredale PureBrow Gel Brow in Brunette to complete the eyes.
Keep the rest of your makeup soft and natural by using pinks and peaches. We used glo minerals GloCream Blush in Fig and jane iredale PureGloss Lip Gloss in Tangerine. This Halloween makeup look works well with a messy updo. You can use a sea salt spray to create texture that looks like you just stepped out of the woods.
