In recent years, glasses have become accessories that you can switch in and out of your routine for a whole new look. Whether you’re wearing them for fashion or function, you can apply your makeup a certain way to ensure that you’re making the most of your look. Here are some tips from Kristen, one of our aestheticians.
Brows are especially important when you are wearing glasses because they give the eye area structure. You don’t have to go all out with a bold brow, simply fill in any gaps and create a slight arching shape with a powder or pencil. Here, Kristen is using glo minerals GloBrow Powder Duo.
When you’re wearing glasses, especially thick or dark frames, you want to keep your makeup a little bit lighter. Stick with warm, neutral colors like nudes, browns and pinks rather than dark grays or blacks. This will keep the eyes from looking too heavy. You should also avoid overly shimmery or glittery shadows because the reflection from your lenses can intensify the shine. Kristen is using jane iredale PurePressed Eye Shadow Triple in Sweet Spot. She is sweeping the lighter shades all across the lids and applying the darker shade to the crease.
Rather than reaching for your black or brown liner, choose a nude or white pencil for the waterline. Applying a lighter shade to the waterline opens up the eyes and makes them appear bigger. Kristen chose glo minerals GloPrecision Eye Pencil in Peach for her waterline.
Before applying mascara, curl your lashes. This will make them appear longer and prevent them from getting lost behind your lenses. When you apply your mascara, focus on the outer corners to create a fluttery effect. Try Youngblood Outrageous Lashes Mineral Lengthening Mascara.
