Watch our Video to Find Out How to Take Your Look from Day to Night
by Marie|September 24, 2015
We’ve all had days where we’ve got to go straight from our desks at work to a nighttime event and there is zero time to do our makeup. Keeping just a few essentials with you can help you transition from day to night. Watch Kristen as she explains how to achieve the look.
When it comes to the eyes, you don’t need to remove the makeup you already have on, simply build onto it. Take a slightly darker shade such as a dark brown or gray and apply it to the crease. You should use this same shadow to line the bottom lash line. This creates definition and a more dramatic look. Here, Kristen is using the dark brown shade in the jane iredale Eye Shadow Triple in Brown Sugar.
After you’ve applied the shadow, it’s time to move on to eyeliner. A liquid eyeliner pen is ideal because you can apply it on the go to create whatever look you want. Kristen is using Youngblood Eye-Mazing Liquid Liner Pen in Noir to create a bold line on the top lash line. You can make the line even more dramatic by winging it out slightly at the outer corner and creating a cat eye. Add at least two more coats of a volumizing mascara.
A full pout with vibrant color is a staple for any nighttime look. If you don’t have time to create a fuller pout with a lip pencil, simply use a lip plumping product. Kristen is using jane iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper in the shade Rose for a fun look. Dark reds, mauves and berries are more suited for a nighttime look so choose a darker shade than you would wear during the day.
