What a great way to incorporate both bakuchiol and niacinamide into your routine. I use it at night. It absorbs so quickly, that I can apply my (thick) moisturizer within a minute or two after applying this serum. I have had no irritation whatsoever and have almost finished the bottle. Toward the middle of using it, I started applying it to my neck and chest area as well as my face. Misleading name, though, as it contains no retinal or retinol either. Instead, it has the new retinol alternative, bakuchiol. Some other Avene RetrinAL products contain retinaldehyde, so be careful about which product you're getting. All are good.

I chose this serum based on a recommendation from my dermatologist, as an alternative for retinol that is safe to use during pregnancy. This serum contains Bakuchiol which is supposed to be a natural and safe alternative to retinol. I like the fact that this is safe and all natural, but I can’t quite say yet if I feel it working. It has a milky consistency and it feels good when applying it at night, it doesn’t irritate or dry the skin, but I haven’t felt any major improvements in my skin yet (been using it for about a month only).
