I've been using this for around 20 years. I have very sensitive skin that bruises if I look at it wrong and used to break out randomly. I didn't have a lot of acne as a teenager, but I did have some; and it seemed my attempts to address it made it worse. One day, my mom and I had a spa weekend--it was my first time ever getting a facial. The lady I got was awesome. She was the one who told me I had sensitive skin and explained that with my sensitivity even witch hazel was going to be too harsh. My skin was breaking out because I was using too harsh of products on it, and it was upsetting my skin and its balance. I still remember how honest and open she was. When I asked her how to address my skin issues, she said that she could try to sell me all sorts of stuff but that honestly, I could use whatever cleanser and moisturizer I wanted. The only thing she felt would be really important for me was Bioelements Equalizer. Although I was a little skeptical about pH balance etc at first, I trusted her because she made my skin feel so much better, she was outright telling me NOT to buy a bunch of expensive stuff she easily could have talked me into, and her explanation of how this would help me seemed interesting. I've never been without it since. There is literally no replacement for this. If Bioelements ever stops making this I will be devastated. I've used this through college, my 20's, my 30's, and now will be into my 40's. People often say I look way younger than I am, and although there are a lot of factors going into that (avoiding sun damage, always using SPF, genetics, my very consistent routine of washing and moisturizing my face, etc) I also definitely credit this for part of it. Every now and then over the years I would try to find a cheaper replacement. I've been able to do that with everything else (makeup, moisturizers, cleansers, sunscreen.... Some of my favorites are drug store) But this can never change. This is the one solid consistency I have to have. I can tell when I have run out and haven't used it; my skin starts to feel tighter in a dry/uncomfortable way, and I'm more prone to breaking out from new makeup I try, or after getting my eyebrows waxed, etc. Even with my sensitive skin, I could probably get away with products from the Dollar store as long as I have this.
