Apply to lips and cheeks 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating and immediately after towel drying. Reapply at least every two hours.
For sheer color, use fingertips to lightly dab color onto skin. For fuller color, apply directly onto skin, or layer on as needed.

I’ve used tinted sunscreen instead of foundation for years now. Occasionally I use this brands Flex tinted sunscreen, other times I use another brand I love from this site. I have medium-light skin tone than tans easily in summer and love using this all year around as ‘blush’. Gorgeous color. It is stiff/dry but I have no issues blending on top of my dewy tinted moisturizer (or well moisturized skin and tinted sunscreen). I swipe over both apples then just use a finger to blend in. I bought this during the sale on a whim in Violet Sky, and I am happy with this. I don't rely on it as sun protection on my checks since I'd have to apply way too much, but on my lips it worked great over a lip balm with spf. I was hoping the the color would be more of a cool toned purply-pink as it appears in the tube and on my arm, but it appears more neutral rosy on my cheeks (I have fair, cool olive skin). It is still very flattering and goes with a lot. It does appear more lilac on my lips so your undertones will affect the the color. It does fade over the day, but not in a patchy way. I apply with a brush, swiping across the top on the stick and dabbing it on my cheeks.

I really wish this provided sun protection. I actually use Colorscience tinted sunscreen all over my face (like a foundation) then use the Colorscience Sunforgettable Balm as a blush. What I found is that I get sunburned just where the blush is. It's happened now a couple of times. My guess is that it rubs off the sunscreen beneath it (when you rub to blend the blush) and that the blush color after blending is too thin to actually protect.

I have these in 3 colors. My skin is fair-light with neutral undertone. I haven't found these color balms to be difficult to work with in the least as other reviewer's stated, and I have dry, mature skin & live in low humidity high desert. I use these balms after my Flex sunscreen. Apply with fingers or a brush in a stippling fashion. The bronze, pink sky, golden hour are beautiful, universal shades. Bronze has a bit of shimmer but not glitter & looks beautiful on eyes, too. I think these shades could work well on all skin tones. The more SPF you wear daily now = the less wrinkles in 10-15 years. That's motivation enough for me!
