This elta MD's Skin Recovery Night Mask burnt my under- eye area skin. As soon as I put this cream on I felt burning sensation and I thought it strange and the feelings got worse and worse. I looked at my face in the mirror and the area I put on the cream was red. I realized the cream was burning my skin and washed it off the area quickly. The redness of the skin didn't go away straight away. I was very worried and I washed and washed the under eye area. I have very delicate dry skin especially around my eyes. Thank goodness the redness of the skin vanished later on and I put on my whole face with elta MD Skin Recovery Night Mask which I have been using for many years. This latter cream is an excellent moisturizer or lubricant for my aged delicate skin at night before I go to sleep. I put on the elta UV Facial Broad-Spectrum SPF 30+ nearly every day when I go out. I've had no problem with that cream either. Therefore, I don't understand why I got such a bad reaction to this cream.

If you have severely dry skin, this is probably not for you. But if you're in your 50's and still have slightly oily skin, this night cream is perfect! I use this on the days I'm cycling off of retinol. It sinks in nicely and when I wake up my skin is soft, calm, and moisturized.
