This all-mineral moisturizer from Eminence offers hydration and protection by using natural ingredients as well as environmentally friendly ones. Galactoarabinan, a molecule drawn from larch trees, moisturizes and helps protect dry skin against dehydration. Skin is left better hydrated as a result.
Lilikoi seed oil, which gives the sunscreen its name, provides a rich source of vitamin C and other antioxidants. These antioxidants defend your skin against pollution and other kinds of environmental stress, helping prevent damage from these sources.
For sun protection, the sunscreen uses 20% zinc oxide. This physical active is considered reef safe, making it good for use in the ocean. Zinc oxide is also broad-spectrum, meaning that it protects against both UVA and UVB rays from the Sun.

Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply at least every 2 hours. Use a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating.

Just FYI for those who want to know, I recently tried this day cream from Enimence and it was awful to say the very least. It never absorbed fully and settled into my pores (which are not large btw) leaving little white "dots" all over my entire face and neck. The overall white cast was extremely obvious and clown-looking. I immediately used a makeup remover wipe to remove it and rewashed my face. In my 52 years, I have never used/tried such a terrible product, and that includes inexpensive drug store brands that I used as a teenager. Just terrible. Beware.

The things I love about this product for face SPF are 1 - It's a great moisturizer plus sunscreen so you really don't need separate products 2 - It's non chemical so I don't worry about putting harmful sunscreen ingredients on my skin daily 365. It's just zinc. 3 - It smells great. 4 - The squeeze bottle makes it easy to fill travel sizes. However, I do transfer most of it to an old Eminence jar that this product used to come in before it was made in a tube because I find I like dipping into a jar more than squeezing a tube. For those that say it's too thick or leaves a white cast on the skin - the thing is that that initial whiteness quickly fades after application when it sinks in, and you are left glowing like a pearl. To help it absorb, I always apply facial oil to my skin after washing and applying toner and before moisturizing. This helps any moisturizer, including this one, just glide right on, and you end up needing to use less product. I simply use organic almond oil from a different brand most of the time, nothing expensive or fancy. It's amazing how it has helped my combination skin to glow by using facial oil plus Eminence products. I love the Blueberry Soy for night, and for sunscreen touch ups during the day or at the beach, I use the Eminence mineral sunscreen brush, which is amazing. Even my boyfriend likes and will use that one!

I decided to. Give my skin a rest from the product I’ve been using for years. So I bought this. I think it has too much zinc oxide in it because it takes a lot of massaging to get to absorb. And even then, it leave a whitish film on my face so I look like a ghost. I then have to put on foundation even if I hadn’t planned on it. I’ve just thrown this out and gone back to my old product.

I am a huge fan of Eminence Organics, so I added Eminence Organics Lilikoi Daily Defense Moisturizer SPF 40 to my daily routine. I purchased it to use on my chest and arms (especially shoulders!). This is a really thick formula, which is what I needed for those areas. My sensitive, dry skin loves it + it has proven to protect my fair skin while I am doing all of my outdoor activities. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because it does take time to rub it in (because it is a thick formula!). It's important to take the time to warm it in your hands, apply it in long strokes, and rub it in using circular motions. It will leave a slight white cast, if not properly rubbed in. As with all of Eminence products, this daily defense moisturizer smells divine, which makes applying it a spa-like experience.
