After preferred Pureology shampoo, remove excess water from the hair. Then apply Color Fanatic Top Coat + Tone evenly throughout hair.
When using Top Coat + Tone Blue or Purple, apply to previously color-treated areas to neutralize unwanted tones.
Leave in for 5-10 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Finish with preferred Pureology conditioner or mask, only if necessary.
Pro Tip: For best results, use Top Coat + Tone - Blue about three weeks post salon service as this is when you usually start to see color fade and unwanted hues start to show. One application will last about six to eight washes before you'll need your next fix.

I've tried countless shampoos and other products to reduce the brassiness of my blonde hair and haven't been fully sold on the results. I've tried the least expensive to high end salon products. This one works great, so far. After using twice, there was no need to rotate it in as frequently as the others. It's not as drying as many of the lower end products and does a better job in achieving the tone I want compared to the higher end products. I like that's it's not a shampoo, you should use after shampooing and let it sit for about 6-10 minutes, then rinse. The applicator tip is a nice touch for targeting certain areas closer to the scalp. The consistency is thick enough to really set on your hair, yet not so thick that it's difficult to spread around and get close to the roots. Initially, I used this twice during the week but think the directions call for using every 6-8 washings. After the first week, that's been accurate for me. It really tones down the yellow brassiness without leaving a dull, silver look like the more purple toners. Also, it's conditioning and leaves a nice, smooth, glossy feel. I have long hair and do go kind of heavy on the application but this will last at least a few months. I'll definitely buy again.
