A very good product to top off your night time routine. You only need a very small amount to moisturize your entire face and neck. I’ve never woken up to dry skin since I’ve used this product. It has become an essential part of my skin care routine.

Pleasantly surprised
I’ve been wondering about this moisturizer for months after seeing it promoted by a great esthetician on Instagram. I decided to try it. I’m pleasantly surprised. One pump is enough for my face and neck. It leaves my skin very hydrated and glowing. My mature skin loves it. It doesn’t feel heavy or pill under makeup. I am loyal to a product from a different brand, but this is definitely a great alternative. I will be alternating between the two to save some money.

Received this as a sample and after using it twice, I was hooked. A lifetime of oily, sensitive and acne prone skin always made me shy away from moisturizers because I thought they would cause breakouts. This moisturizer is a game changer; it made an immediate improvement in my skin's texture and appearance. It sits well under my foundation and even makes it look better. The product can feel greasy if you apply too much but I haven't made that mistake since the first use. I also use it at night after applying a Retin-A gel and hyalauronic acid serum. The product will pill a little when applied on top of this combination, so I gently tap it on instead of trying to spread it and that works fine. Right now the Ultra Nourishing formula is perfect but if I find it too moisturizing in the spring & summer months, I'll try the Ultra Light version.

The Ultra Nourishing is great for nights when I know I need a little extra hydration and especially when using in combination with Tretinoin and Azaleic Acid. Highly recommend!

Nice daily moisturizer
I have tried the other Alastin moisturizer for more oily skin at the advice of my dermatologist but didn't care for it because I felt like it didn't provide me enough moisture. I've been curious about the Ultra Moisturizing formula. It's really not all that heavy as the name would imply. I had thought about pairing it with my prescription retinoid at night but it's not moisturizing enough for me. I use this in the morning before I apply my daily sunscreen. Under makeup, it's great. Gives me enough moisture but doesn't make me look like a grease pit at the end of the day.

I have been struggling to find a moisturizer that doesn't cause my makeup to pill. And I have tried just about everyone out there! This was recommended to me after a hydra facial, but I wasn't really expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised! I love it!! Rich but greasy
This is a rich cream, less of a lotion. It is silky but also greasy, and so I use it sparingly. I prefer to use the body lotion version all over, including face, because it is less greasy.

Thin cream/lotion. Airless pump works well. Not sticky. Does not leave a film on the skin and absorbs fairly quickly. No scent. After having said all the positive aspects, I must admit, I saw no difference in sustained level of skin moisture. Maybe this cream/lotion would be more suitable for warmer months. Not enough for dry winters. I give it 3 stars for all the pluses. Took 2 stars off for doing nothing for my mature skin, however, may be beneficial for younger skin. Will not repurchase.
