Didn't help with my melasma, but has made my skin looks brighter/smoother

I purchased this on recommendation from Sali Hughes column, as well as Caroline Hirons, who both used this to rid themselves of discoloration from melasma. Hughes' column was so amazing, I went out and bought it immediately. When I first started using it, it burned like the dickens. The first two weeks was almost unbearable, and it irritated my skin around the corners of my mouth. But I persevered because reviews were so good. My skin has finally accepted it, it only itches now. But after 7 weeks of consistent use every night, it hasn't budged my melasma one bit. It's still as dark as ever. I plan to use the entire bottle in the hopes that maybe I just have to give it more time. I have dark olive skin, if that makes a difference and developed my melasma after the birth of my child 2 years ago.
