My mother gave me this as a sample she had gotten from LS. I followed the instructions working up lather with damp fingertips and massaged all over my face for one minute. One minute is really all you need...my skin was so smooth, so soft and not irritated. The little acne on my forehead was gone the next day, my complexion was more even and radiant. And I reiterate...my skin was not hurt in any way shape or form. I used the sample on a Wednesday night, and came back to LS and and ordered the full size product Thursday night. I have been using this for years because of sensitive skin made more sensitive by RetinA use. Ive tried more abrasive exfoliants but they reddened or removed skin causing me to bleed.
