Using the bar after the cleansing oil has completely changed my cleansing results! The bar has lasted me three months. The cleansing oil melts the oils and the bar sucks up all the impurities. My skin looks brighter and feels squeaky clean but not stripped and dry. Only 4 stars because neither the oil or the bar are good at removing eye makeup.

I remember 50 years ago when all my girlfriends were using this "exotic" soap to clear up their acne. I had forgotten about it over the years but was looking for something new to cleanse my face and decided to give it a try even though I don't haver acne in my senior years. In fact, my skin is dry. But, the reviews I read indicated it was good for all skin types so thought I would see. Was I ever surprised. My skin has a new glow to it. The soap definitely washes off all the dirt from the day and does not seem to alter the PH balance of your skin in doing so. It just makes it ready to accept all those serums and night creams.

This charcoal bar is hands down the best part of my daily skin care routine. I’ve always had issues with break outs, even as an adult. Those cut WAY back once I began using this! I do wash my face with it twice each morning and each night, because it really clears away any sebum or daily residue for me. And it lasts such a long time, that it’s absolutely worth the money. Erno Laszlo's Sea Mud Cleansing Bar is amazing. I now see why it's been in their product line for years and has such a cult following. I use it in conjunction with their Detoxifying Cleansing Oil. They highly recommend using both products together and I do too. The combination has improved my skin dramatically. When was the last time a product changed your skin dramatically? I thought i was getting my skin clean using a popular cleansing oil but when you use these two products, what Laszlo calls the "Double Cleanse", you really see how clean you SHOULD be. The sea mud bar finishes cleansing your skin after you prep with the oil first. It also detoxifies and I'm no longer breaking out with those little annoying bumps and blemishes that can ruin your week. My skin is clean, balanced and hydrated. This particular bar of theirs also helps speed up the fading of any blemish marks you have as well. As a woman over 40, I need that help with cell turnover. I do recommend using the oil and bar together, as that's been my experience but I'm now a devotee and won't use anything else.
