This is a nice compact, large with a quality mirror. I'm using the powder with a Klix brush instead of the sponge since my make up skills are remedial at best. The brush provides a more sheer finish. With aging skin, bare minerals began to enhance the discrepancies rather than camoflage them. This powder seems to provide a sheer filter that brings things together. I like it!

I could not decide whether to get the perfecting powder or the finishing powder. I even called glominerals directly, trying to figure out which one to get for my skin type. Well I got the perfecting, which is very mattyfying, and totally trnaslucent. If you want just a hint of color--go with the other one. Also, this is really not a powder that you put in when applying makup. It is more of a compact that you take to touch up. If I just use this, instead of a loose powder, I will get shiny throughout the day. So this is better just as a touch up. I do like the translucency of it. You can cover a pimple with out adding color!
