The color is pretty close to my needs. The foundation is not going on smooth when I am done putting the foundation on I cannot clear it to be smooth. So maybe I am doing something incorrect. I like this foundation. I find I need to layer it to get the coverage I need. Also, it is best to put it on clean, dry skin (for me), no moisturizer. Those who find it "drying" uh... well, what do you think matte means? I have dry, 62 year old skin, but this works well for me without any primer. It is not moisturizing but just comfortable on my skin. I didn't give it 5 stars because of the coverage, but it does say in the description "medium to light coverage" buildable.

I was very excited when I found that Jane Iredale was putting out a new liquid foundation. This one is smooth and creamy, nice to apply, and gives good coverage. I also use it just as a concealer or under my eyes when needed. It can be layered, or mixed with moisturizer for a bit of color, making it easy to work with. Color selection is good. Mine is a bit too yellow, but that's my fault for making the choice. I would give this 5 stars if it had SPF. I was surprised that it doesn't have sun protection, as many JI products do. I am always looking for ways to save time and have fewer products to wear in the daytime—but as a skin cancer survivor, I must wear sunscreen daily. I have to wear sunscreen under this foundation, or else use the Iredale powder foundation over it. Otherwise, a nice product, especially if you're not worried about SPF.

Jane Iredale's Beyond Matte Liquid Foundation
I am 50 years old and have oily/acne prone skin with warm undertones. I was able to obtain a few samples of Jane Iredale’s Beyond Matte Liquid Foundation and settled on M5. I have struggled to find a foundation with good coverage, that does not look cakey (i.e. mineral powder foundations), does not make my pores look even larger than they are, and that does not irritate my sensitive/acne prone skin. I find that Jane Iredale’s Beyond Matte Liquid Foundation gives me good coverage, looks natural, and does not irritate my skin. I use this over my normal skincare preparation of SPF 45 sunscreen and my daily lotion. I finish my makeup application with Jane Iredale’s PureMatte Finish Powder. I have not tried using a primer with this product. The only issue I seem to have with the foundation is that it tends to slip or gather around my nose I am not sure if this is because of my oily skin, or the foundation, as I have never really experienced this with other foundations. It requires me to do a little additional blending once it has gathered but seems fine afterwards. I have only been using this product since November, so I don’t know how it will perform during the humid summer weather. I typically use blotting papers at least once or twice a day during the summer, and on occasion during the rest of the year, but so far, I have not needed to do so with this product. It is still early into my experience with this product, but I have already re-ordered it for when I run out of this first bottle, so I guess that qualifies as my endorsement.

This foundation has satin matte finish on my oily/combo skin. This applies very smoothly with a damp sponge. This foundation does not seep into fine lines and is the perfect weight ant texture when I am doing a full face look using lots of products i.e. blush, bronzers, powders primers etc. I bought this as my going out foundation and this does last and layer well with other makeup. This matte but slightly dewy finish is truly beautiful on the skin and does not harm or inflame my pores. I am rating it this 4 for now because I have not tested this product long enough to give it 5, but I am sure it is no different then the bb cream and liquid minerals that I use daily and those two products changed my skin for the better.
