Perfect for a no-makeup look
I've used Jane Iredale makeup for 17 years and love how well it matches my skin tone. The liquid minerals are my go-to for everyday wear. Rather than a foundation, it's more like a tinted hyaluronic acid serum. It doesn't give a lot of coverage but it will even out your complexion. If I want more coverage, I'll use the Pressed Base over the liquid minerals.

Wanting to love it
I've been using JI pure pressed base for many years (LOVE!), and have tried this liquid minerals several times. I am attracted to it because it's lightweight, good for my skin, serum-like, and popular. My stumbling block is that the little bubbles are hard to "crush" and blend completely. I don't love using a brush to apply because most of the product absorbs into the bristles = wasteful. I dispense product onto the back of my hand, "smooth & crush" the beads, and apply with my fingers. I use the pure pressed base on shiny areas afterwards. The finish then is beautiful, but I'm not sure I'll prefer this on the daily over just the pressed minerals base. I will likely just use this liquid on occasion.

Liquid Minerals is very gentle on my sensitive skin. Application is tricky. I cannot use the Jane Iredale primer to facilitate because it gives me tiny red bumps here and there. I initially tried applying using the JI sponge with less-than-satisfactory results. I then ordered the Jane Iredale foundation brush and that made application easier and smoother. As the day progresses, I sometimes find tiny granular residue where the foundation was applied and need to brush it away with a soft, fluffy brush. The coverage is sheer, so if you're looking for medium to full coverage, this may not be the product for you. A+ for skin health, C for ease of application and appearance overall.

I like how this really soaks in and doesn't leave creases. It is a little gooey at times but eventually it all soaks in. I do not break out when I wear this and I simply adjust colors from summer to winter as my skin color changes from the sun. I didn't give it a 5 because it is missing an SPF requiring me to use another product.

I so wanted to love this product, however.... I cannot apply it without the little globs accumulating on my face. I have watched the videos, tried using the flocked sponge and a brush to no avail. I bought a bottle years ago and ended up throwing it away out of frustration. Recently, I decided to give it another; the idea of it seems so perfect for my skin. But, no luck. This foundation is thick coming out of the bottle but leaves a nice dewy look (light coverage). I like that is is also a serum that is improving my skin at the same time. Just wish it had a little better coverage. I also feel like I'm going through the bottle quickly.

Like most Iredale products, this one is a quality product–nice texture, wears well, looks natural, and doesn't irritate sensitive skin. However, I was disappointed to see that it has no SPF. Had I looked carefully at the product description, I would have seen that and I wouldn't have purchased it. I will use the foundation, but will have to apply it over a sunscreen. But I don''t like to layer TOO many products under foundation ... and I have a feeling I will go back to using the Iredale loose mineral powder foundation -- which does have SPF.

Looking for something different and after reading reviews for liquid minerals I decided to give it a try. I am very pleased with the smooth dewy finish this product leaves on my skin never heavy or cakey looking. Coverage is light to medium, depending on whether I use the makeup brush or my fingers. I find I do not need to reapply during the day. If I get a little shine on my nose or forehead, I do a quick light brush of purepressed base and I'm good to go. I will continue to use this happily!

Jane Iredale's Liquid Mineral Foundation is a great-for-your-skin mineral foundation. It is a sheer foundation (although you can build it up to medium if you wish) that provides nice coverage without making you look like you're wearing a mask of makeup. I apply one pump of the foundation and follow up with a light dusting of the Purepressed Base foundation in the same shade to take the shine off. I love the fact that this foundation has hyaluronic acid - something that is good for my skin and, to my knowledge, no other liquid foundation has. Thank you Jane Iredale.....

I use Jane Iredale because my skin breaks out easily, and this line of makeup is mineral based which does not hold bacteria and therefore will not break your skin out. I pair the liquid foundation with the matt powder for a very natural and clean look. If you have problem areas, youll need to use coverup, as this foundation is pretty light.
