Quality issues?

Overall I enjoy using this foundation brush, but the one I received is not what I expect from Koh Gen Do, or any brush at this price point. The bristles on mine came very splayed. There are two large sort of "gaps", the best way I can describe them are similar to how cowlicks look. I thought that it was maybe something to do with how it was packaged and stored, so I figured I would just wash and reshape. But again similar to a cowlick... that didn't work. I can't seem to fix it. It seems to be caused by the way the bristles were placed or cut. I'm not sure it affects application to be honest, but it's pretty annoying considering the price. Something I really appreciate is the handle. The weight feels good and I love the shorter length.
