I started using the .5 retinol cream every night and found that I did not get any drying or peeling so after I used it up I started using the 1.0 and after a week of using it every night I found that I was getting a little peeling on my checks so I now only use it every other day which has helped. I always moisturize after putting it on. I don't see any difference in my face but hopefully it is doing something!

I've been using Avene 1.0 Retinol for a couple of years and thought to try Obagi. The two products are quite similar but what I like about the Obagi is 1) that it has a pump like Avene, so you don't waste product, and, 2) you can gauge how much you have left by feeling the tube. Avene does not have any indicator that you are close to running out! Can be frustrating if you don't have a backup. Good for everyday. I have combination skin and use this product to hold off any acne.

I have used different Retinols over the years. For me, I didn’t see any peeling or itchiness (which some people might like). But I like to see it working , and I didn’t. My skin is very sensitive. I used to use Retin A and loved it, but due to high cost I switched to this instead. I've been using it for 2 weeks (along with Obagi #5 blender) and so far so good. Smooth Skin, Need a better Dispenser
I think this is a really good retinol. My skin is very smooth after using it. I can feel the tingling when applied, but I haven't had a bad reaction, so far. My only gripe is the dispenser. It is very awkward to use. You should be able to hold in one hand and pump, but it takes some extra coordination. It comes out ok, but I don't feel I have much control over it and my hand loses grip sometimes. They should update the dispenser.
