I want to love it
I have been using the Skinceuticals line for years EXCEPT for my light lotion in the warmer months. I’m normal/combo, in the winter I need a light cream, summer light lotion. (I’m just shy of 40 and in perimenopause) I had high hopes for this but it leaves my skin feeling slightly tacky and I’m also breaking out. Nothing in my regime has changed but this. It does feel and smell wonderful gliding on, and if I reduce the amount (1 pump for face avoiding eyes) it’s not enough but anything more is too much even bringing it down my neck. I’ve only been using it for a few weeks and honestly my skin does feel smoother but nothing more. I’m not sure if I’ll be purchasing this again or going back to my old light lotion.

I use other SkinCeuticals products, which I love, so I decided to test this one out. It did not impress me - it was not rich in consistency, it did not feel like it was nourishing my skin and it didn't really take care of pigmentation. It did hydrate the skin somewhat, but i need more hydration than that - so I am going back to SkinCeuticals lipid cream which I love.

I haven't used the product long enough to truly make a judgment on Whether or not is effective for my skin. I have noticed that My skin doesn't seem to absorb the product as well as I would like, so I end up with residue on my face that sometimes looks dirty. Perhaps I'm applying it incorrectly, but I only combine it with other skin ceutical products, and apply as directed. I haven't used the product long enough to really give a fair rating, so make your own judgment.

Moderately Benefit for Retinoid Irritation
Started using the Metacell B3 serum at night following application of a topical retinoid and noticed moderate improvement in skin sensitivity after about one week of regular use. The retinoid previously caused my skin to peel and turn red during warm weather even with religious sunscreen application. With the addition of this B3 serum, the redness disappeared and the peeling improved but didn't entirely go away. For the price, I had hoped for more effects. After finishing this bottle, I will probably try the resveratrol B serum from the same company instead.

I am giving this product a lower rating because of the packaging. The bottle looks nice but the cream is contained in a plastic bag inside the bottle which makes getting the product out difficult, I only used 1 small pea size drop a day and I quickly ran out of the product. Other than the above comments, the product helped moisturize and smooth my skin. I have used skin ceuticals products for several years and I pleased with most of their products.
