The Only Scar Cream That Works
After a suspicious mole (thankfully benign) was removed by my plastic surgeon - he recommended - rather, he actually insisted - that I use Skin Medica Scar Recovery Gel. He advised that it is the only effective scar treatment. He advises all his patients to use it to resolve scarring. He was right. SCAR RECOVERY GEL
This is a nice, thick gel so it applies easily. It dries quickly so your clothes don't get sticky. A little bit goes a long way. I have only been using it a few weeks on a fresh scar so can't really tell if it has made much of a difference yet. If you have a large scar I would suggest you order the larger size.

New scars=reordered!
I first used SkinMedica’s Scar recovery gel after having Mohs surgery on my face. It was a terrible triangular scar just below my nose. I used the gel morning and night and after a year, there was quite an improvement. At that point I was at the dermatologist for a checkup and asked if she thought it might improve any more, and she said she thought it was as good as it was going to get. But I persisted, and yes it was 2 years in all, but it did improve and many friends have said it’s not even noticeable any more. So now I’ve had a rotator cuff surgery, which left 5 small scars. Got a brand new tube. It will work again. Get it and don’t give up. It totally pays off.

This is EXPENSIVE. So far, it seems like a great product: came highly recommended by doctors I trust, feels nice, does not irritate sensitive skin. For as expensive as it is, I thought I would need less of it, like it would be thicker and a little would go further, but that is not the case.

I have a few recent scars on my face from surgery. Used this product for over a month with no major wow factor. I’m sure product helped since the scars aren’t red, but one scar is still slightly raised. I had no allergic reactions, gel wasn’t sticking and dried relatively quickly. Though as expensive as it was, I expected more results. I used this product exclusively on several scars and vitamin e on another and the scar I put vitamin e on looks better. I wouldn’t recommend due to the price and lack of great results.

This gel goes on very nice initially. It feels smooth and cool making one feel that it’s a healing balm on the scar tissue. All that said, if you want to wear it outside or under/over makeup, be aware that it will flake. I don’t believe I’ll purchase this again.
