Great scar cream
This scar cream eliminated an angry-looking 3-inch burn scar on my hand. I have very fair skin and even paper cuts leave visible scars, but this cream eliminated any semblance of discoloration. My dermatologist recommended it and advised that I use twice per day and apply sunscreen afterwards. It dries quickly and leaves an invisible and non-tacky film-like covering. It's very hydrating and soothing. I am stunned at the efficacy of this product and will keep a tube on hand at all times. Also, a little bit goes a LONG way.

This gel is easy to apply and dries quickly, with no fragrance. Other products I have used required more than 15 minutes to dry, which interrupted my morning dressing routine. One other brand smelled like onion. New scars from surgery or wounds respond quickly - the redness abates in a matter of days, and scars beginning to raise will flatten. I tend to get hypertrophic or keloid scars which continue to grow without treatment, and this gel prevents my old scars from worsening. I wish I had known about it 20 years ago!

Noticable Difference

This is the 3rd bottle of SkinMedicas Scar Recovery gel I have used. I tend to bruise and scar very easy with facial work that I get done. I used this on a healed spinal scar that is very faint now and always use it after I get any botox, fillers or threads done. A must have.

I love the smell and the feel of this scar gel. It’s too soon to tell if it’s working, I’ve been using it for a week barely so I can’t give a full review. Treating a scar takes a long time to see results though. But, I can tell you that the product is not sticky like other scar gels, it’s not too creamy. It dries out perfectly. It makes your skin feel smooth. This brand is high end and it’s products are medical grade. I think it will work. You can’t compare this to a drugstore brand. I had used drugstore brands and it’s just throwing your money and time away. I decided to invest in a good product and I think it will be worth the buy. Once I see full results I will try to update my review if it’s possible, if the website allows me to.

Three months ago I had surgery on my throat which left a very thin red scar. I tried this product for about three weeks however it just wasn’t my formula it seems to dry and then crack which doesn’t seem like it’s doing an effective job of treating the area.

Crusty yellow residue
Unfortunately this one is a disappointment. It leaves a yellow discolored film that turns crusty. Even the slightest, most thinly applied amount will not help this side effect. It also seems to dry out the area and has a somewhat exfoliating effect. Not at all what I expected from a scar cream. Used on a lip lift scar.

Ordered this product to see how it would work in reducing redness of an older scar. Didn’t do a thing. Best to just go to your derm and treat any scars with an actual laser. Topical products just don’t do enough for older scars. Perhaps new ones may be ok with this product but did not work for me.
