The metal teeth do a good job of going through my lashes after I apply mascara. Works much better than a plastic comb, and the mascara doesn't seem to build up on it. You have to do it while the mascara is still wet though. Once it's dry, the comb doesn't work nearly as well. I like the fact that it closes so the teeth won't get bent or broken.

The Tweezerman eyelash comb is the best. I use it after applying mascara to remove any clumps. The metal teeth on the comb are super close together.
