Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. It sounds like the airless pump on the product needs to be primed. This product has an airless pump dispenser that uses a vacuum system to dispense the product. Airless pumps help keep your formulas safe and they let you get the most product out of the bottle, however since these pumps use a vacuum system instead of a straw, you will need to prime the pump to expel excess air the first time you use your products and throughout the life of the product. To do so, if it is a bottle, with the cap on and the product in the upright position, using a bit of force strike the bottom of the product evenly against a sturdy surface 10 to 15 times. If you notice a hole on the bottom of the bottle, introduce a paperclip into the hole and push up against the resistance. Next, cover the opening where the formula is dispensed with your finger and pump fully and slowly 10-15 times. This will expel any excess air and “jumpstart” the product. This does have a nice texture and feels good on the skin. It did not act well as a primer, does not layer well and did not moisturize. It will work great for outdoor days when make up is not used. It has great ingredients to protect skin but to call it hydrating and a primer is a reach.
