I'm always trying different shaving creams but in my opinion, The Art of Shaving is the gold standard. It lathers great with or without a brush and I never get small nicks/irritations like other shaving creams. The Sandalwood scent is subtle and smells great. The main downside for this shaving cream is that leaves a lot of soap scum on my Gillette Fusion w/Flexball handle (and safety razor) compared with other brands although I've found foam cleaners make quick work of this problem. Another small bummer is that a few years back the AOS changed the packaging across the entire travel size line and stopped using airless pumps. I know using squeeze tubes saves money but it really did make quick work of measuring the exact amount of product needed to shave, how often I needed to reorder, and set them apart from the competition. Hopefully they'll changed back one day.

My fiancé loves this shaving cream, and we usually buy it in a tub. He also travels a lot, and the tub is just too big to pack for an overnight trip. I was excited to find this in a tube, because its smaller and much easier to pack. I also personally think it's more hygienic this way. He does prefer the tub for home use though, I think he enjoys the whole ritual of dabbing and swirling the brush in it, hard to do this with a tube.

When it comes to shaving, Im old school. I use a brush, real shave cream out of a tube, and an old style double edge razor. No fancy multi-blade, battery operated, vibrating razor for me. Art of Shaving Shave Cream is not cheap, but its the best shaving cream out there if you use a brush. It only takes a small amount to generate a good lather so it will last a long time. Its not easy to find and Lovely Skin has the best price Ive found anywhere on the internet. Plus they have great service and fast delivery. If you use a brush, give this a try.
