Kristen, an aesthetician at LovelySkin, explains the three steps of applying self-tanners.
Hi. My name is Kristen and I'm an aesthetician here at LovelySkin. Today we are going to be talking about how we apply self-tanners. There are three important steps that we need to know when applying self-tanners. I know that sometimes it can seem a little bit scary, but if you follow these steps you should be just fine.
The first step is to shave. So shave wherever that you think that you need to.
And then the second step is to exfoliate. Make sure that we are paying close attention to places that get a little bit more dry such as our elbows and then our knees.
And then the third step is just how to apply the self-tanner. So you want to start at the tip of your toes. In circular motions move your way up. And then you want to save your arms and your hands for last. Make sure that we wash our palms after we are done just so we make sure we don't end up with Oompa Loompa hands.
And then the next step is to figure out what would be best for your skin tone. So people with a little bit more of a fair skin tone like myself would be perfect for a gradual tanner. My favorite that we offer here in the store is the Tantasia by jane iredale. It's very simple to use. You just put it on like a lotion and it's going to dry instantly, which is why I love it. There's no waiting around.
And then if you have a little bit more of a darker complexion you want to use more of a gradual towelette versus the lotion. One that we offer here in the store is one by Dr. Dennis Gross. It's just a simple pad that you use. It has active vitamin D in it so it's going to help give you that nice sun glow.
And all of the products that we talked about here today you can find on LovelySkin.com or in our retail store along with other awesome products that we have here. All right. Thanks for watching, guys, and I'll see you next time. Bye.
