Watch this video to learn how to recreate a 1960s Twiggy makeup look for Halloween.
Few things define the swingin’ sixties like Twiggy, the notorious 1960’s model and makeup icon. Replicate her famous doe-eyed look with these easy makeup tips.
First, apply your favorite sheer foundation. If you’ve got freckles, now’s the time to flaunt them.
Apply a light shade of eyeshadow over your top lid to minimize any darkness. Then, take a dark brown shade and make a line in your eye crease, starting from the corner and working your way out. This dark line gives your eyes depth and definition. Do not blend.
Next, use a black liquid liner and line your upper lashline. Go all the way from the inner corner to the outer corner, and flick out the end.
Curl your lashes and then apply two coats of volumizing black mascara. If you’re feeling daring, apply some fake lashes to really give your eyes the Twiggy treatment.
Line your waterline with a white pencil to make your eyes appear larger. Finish your eyes by drawing in thick lower lashes with a gel liner.
Keep the rest of your makeup very natural. Use a peach blush on your cheeks and apply a moisturizing balm to your lips.
For your hair, make a deep side part and slick to the sides with a maximum hold styling gel. If you’ve got longer hair, simply pull it back into a low bun.
Finally, reach into the back of your closet and pull out your favorite 1960s garb. Short shift dresses, turtle neck sweaters and color-block clothes will do the trick. Now go hit the town and bring the 1960’s back to life.
