The LovelySkin team helped paint at the Siena/Francis House in Omaha, Nebraska.
Stephanie Beister with Siena/Francis House:
Today, we’re painting the hallways. We try to paint as often as possible. With as many people as come and go through our shelter (about 3600 people last year), the more often we paint, the more opportunity to get all those germs covered up, get everything clean and fresh and make everything feel a little bit more like home.
Volunteering is huge at Siena/Francis House. We have hundreds of volunteers every year, but at least a couple hundred every week. Some of them do regular things for us like serve a meal, some people teach resume classes, computer skills. You can also always call the shelter and talk to me or any of the other staff members about opportunities.
