To celebrate Fourth of July, we’ve created a super simple eye look inspired by the golds, pinks and turquoises that illuminate the night sky. Save the classic red, white and blue for your outfit and create this “sparkler” of an eye instead to really go out like a firework!
You can achieve this Fourth of July makeup in five minutes or less. For the look, we’ll be using the Osmosis Colour Water Color High Intensity Loose Shadows in the shades Amethyst, Azure and Topaz. These radiant loose shimmers will never crease, and best of all, they’re infused with antioxidant green tea extract, plus vitamins A, C and E and a goji berry blend. Not only will you enjoy high color pay-off, you’ll also nourish the eye area. Win!
Don’t let the glimmer in these intense eye shimmers intimidate you. This look is foolproof, and no two will be exactly the same. And if you’re especially fond of one of these colors, don’t be afraid to play it up or make it your base color. The sky’s the limit and you’ll still achieve a beautiful firework effect.
Start out by priming your eyes with jane iredale Smooth Affair for Eyes in the shade Naked. This will allow the pigment to stand out and stay put. Next, use your clean finger or a flat shader brush like jane iredale Eye Shader Brush to gently pat the shade Topaz over the entire lid. Be sure not to pat too far above the crease area, but don’t worry too much about being neat.
Pick up the shade Amethyst and repeat by patting it over the Topaz.
You’ll repeat this same step with Azure, patting it over top of the other two colors to make them pop.
Once your eyeshadow is in place, you may need to blend the crease with the jane iredale Crease Brush to soften any harsh lines.
To finish the look, add a burst of blue by applying a thin line of Youngblood Extreme Pigment Eye Pencil in Blue Suede to the top lash line. You can also apply it to the outer third of the bottom lash line. Then sweep your favorite mascara (we used jane iredale PureLash Original Mascara in Black Onyx) onto the top and bottom lashes. Now you’re all ready to celebrate the Fourth!
