A plump pout is always in style, and with the right technique, you can easily get the illusion of fuller lips. Follow along with Kristen, our LovelySkin Aesthetician, as she walks you through how to achieve an amped up lip look with a few of our favorite products from LovelySkin.com.
Start out by moisturizing. Not only will this increase the volume of your lips naturally by adding plumping hydration, it will also act as a primer and create a smooth canvas for color. We love FixMySkin Healing Lip Balm Unflavored with 1% Hydrocortisone. Also available in vanilla, the balm contains 1% hydrocortisone, along with nourishing shea and cocoa butters, to help soften and repair lips.
Next, pick up a lip liner in a shade that closely matches your regular lip color. Lip liner is the most important step since we’ll be drawing just outside our natural lip line to create the fuller lip. Choosing a shade that matches your lips will help keep the look natural. Kristen is using Youngblood Lipliner Pencil in Au Naturel.
Using the liner, draw along the outside of your natural lip line, taking care not to draw too far. Most of us draw just inside the natural lip line for an everyday look. Think of drawing a line in the same thickness as you normally would, just outside the lip line. Once you’ve lined your lips, fill in the rest with the liner.
Your lips should be looking fuller already. Now, it’s time to add color. Choose a lipstick or crayon in any color you’d like. All that matters is that it makes you feel confident. Kristen is using the jane iredale PlayOn Lip Crayon in Charming, one of our newest products. We also love the glo minerals Cream Glaze Crayons and Youngblood Lipstick. You can apply color directly to your lips or use a brush, like jane iredale Retractable Lip Brush, for more precision.
That’s all there is to it! You’re ready to rock your plump new lips.
