Make Yourself Look more Awake and Refreshed with these Makeup Tips
by Marie|October 28, 2015
There are some nights when it’s just impossible to get the recommended eight hours of sleep. The morning after, you may notice some telltale signs that you didn’t get enough rest. Kristen is here to show you a few tips on using makeup to look more awake.
Illuminating, dewy products make the skin look refreshed. On days when you’re lacking sleep, begin with a hydrating face product such as a BB cream or tinted moisturizer. Kristen is using Mirabella CC Cream. After you’ve applied your base, address those dark circles with an illuminating concealer such as jane iredale Active Light Under-Eye Concealer. Apply the concealer in an upside down triangle shape to lift and illuminate the eyes.
Your eyes often give away your lack of sleep so the key is to make them appear wider and more awake. To do this, use a light shimmery shadow such as jane iredale PurePressed Eye Shadow in Oyster on the inner corner of the eye and underneath the brow bone. To open the eyes up even more, use a white or nude pencil on the inner waterline. Kristen is using glo minerals GloPrecision Eye Pencil in Peach. Finish with a coat of lengthening mascara such as Youngblood Outrageous Lashes Mineral Lengthening Mascara to make the eyes appear more open.
A light pink blush gives the complexion a natural flush that makes you look more vibrant and refreshed. Here, Kristen is applying Youngblood Mineral Blush in Blossom to the apples of her cheeks and sweeping it up towards her temples.
To complete the look, Kristen is applying a shiny gloss in a light color that reflects light to create a more vibrant look. She is using glo minerals GloGloss in Lily, a light pink shade that also hydrates and softens lips.
