If you are using the TOUCH for the first time or treating a new body area, choose a small area close to the area you intend to treat. The Skin Sensitivity Test should be performed on LOW energy level. Prepare your skin for the test and follow the treatment instructions. Wait 30 minutes and check your skin for any reaction. If the skin appears normal, then you are ready to perform a full treatment. If the treated spot appears red or irritated, please wait 24 hours and repeat the test. Otherwise consult your doctor.
Step 1: To prepare for your TOUCH treatment: First remove hair from the area you want to treat. Clean your skin and dry it with a towel. This will ensure that the elos technology is focused on the hair follicles beneath the surface for optimal efficacy. If you have light hair, it is recommended that you wax or epilate immediately before treating with the TOUCH in order to get the best results. Make sure to clean your skin of any wax or hair residue before starting treatment. Do not treat if you feel your skin is irritated from waxing or epilation.
Step 2: Select your elos energy level. Always start on LOW and if you are comfortable, move to MEDIUM or HIGH for even greater efficacy. The device will not activate if you do not select an elos level.Remove the applicator from the base.Press the elos activation button located on the back of the applicator. The button will turn blue and you will hear the fan start inside the applicator.
Step 3: Gently place the applicator on your skin, so that the two silver RF contact bars are in complete contact with the skin. The applicator will emit pulses of bright white light - this is the elos energy at work. The applicator will not work unless both silver RF contact bars are touching your skin . Glide the applicator over your skin in one continuous motion, moving after each flash.
Repeat until you have covered the entire area 2 to 3 times. Approximate treatment times are shown on the next page. Individual times may vary. You can treat all body areas during the same treatment session. DO NOT hold the applicator window still over one spot and flash multiple light pulses on the skin. Doing so may generate too much heat which can injure the skin.The applicator will turn itself off if it is not in use for 30 seconds. To turn the applicator back on, press the elos activation button located on the applicator. The device will go into stand-by mode after 3 minutes with no use; press the power button to turn the device back on.
Step 4 (Treating the Face): When treating your face it is recommended that you use the precision adapter. Gently place the applicator on your face (below the cheek line), so that the two silver RF contact bars are in complete contact with the skin. The applicator will emit pulses of bright white light - this is the elos energy at work. The applicator will not work unless both silver RF contact bars are touching the skin. Allow one pulse of elos energy on your first target area. Remove the applicator after a single pulse and move to the next target area. Repeat this action until you have covered your entire facial treatment area 2-3 times.
If you find the light from the elos pulse too bright, you can wear sunglasses or goggles for your comfort. Do not hold the applicator window still over one spot and flash multiple light pulses on the skin. Doing so may generate too much heat, which can injure the skin. The applicator will turn itself off if it is not in use for 30 seconds. To turn the applicator back on, press the elos activation button located on the applicator. The device will go into stand-by mode after 3 minutes with no use; press the power button to turn the device back on. Turn the system off by pressing the power button on the base unit. Place the applicator in its cradle on the base unit. Unplug the power cable from the electric socket.Clean the cartridge light output window with a non-alcohol-based wipe or soft tissue. Clean the outside surface of the iluminageTOUCH system using ONLY a dry, soft cloth or a non-alcohol-based wet wipe. Store the system in a cool and dry place AWAY from the reach of children.
Contraindications
• DO NOT use if you have epilepsy or light-induced seizures or chronic migraines.
• DO NOT use if you have an active implant, such as a pacemaker, incontinence device, insulin pump, etc. Use of the iluminageTOUCH system has not been tested in individuals with active implants, and, therefore, the effects are unknown.
• DO NOT use on the ears, nipples, and other intimate areas. These areas may have more sensitive skin and using the iluminageTOUCH there may cause serious injury.
• DO NOT use on a man's face, jaw or neck. Using the iluminageTOUCH in these areas may result in skin injury.
• KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. The iluminageTOUCH should not be used by anyone under the age of 18. The use of the iluminageTOUCH on or by children has not been studied and could result in serious injury.

I’ve only been using this for a few weeks now, so it’s still too soon to say if it will show results. I chose this over other IPL devices as I have fair skin/light hair and the IPL/RF combo allegedly makes this more effective on lighter hair. It is totally painless and easy to use. Device gets slightly warm but not uncomfortable at all. Does not include or even mention glasses, but I wear just in case. It has to have full skin contact to flash, so you can’t look directly at the light but you still see a partial flash around the edges. Also does not include the epilator attachment, so you have to buy that separately if you plan to epilate first (which is quite painful). Overall, happy with it so far but more time is needed to determine effectiveness

I haven’t used it long enough to know how well it will work long term in hair reduction. It is extremely easy to use and I have tried another system and the Iluminage is much easier to use . The base is pretty large so be prepared for it to take up some space. I have used it on my body and face at full power and I have had no skin issues at all.

I researched for quite a while prior to making this purchase. I was very excited to receive my hair remover! I followed the instructions and used it often on many places; under arms, legs, arms, bikini area, etc. and I did not see any reduction in the amount of hair that grew. I was very disappointed in this product. My hair is supposed to be perfect for this machine. Hope you have better luck.

Been using this on areas that have residual (or new) growth that have been, in the past professionally treated with laser and/or electrolysis. It’s important to follow directions and do it weekly. As a result, either the hairs are becoming finer, and/or they are disappearing. Not sure how it may satisfy you if you’ve got pretty strong stubborn hairs.

I cannot really give final results yet, as I have only used the machine 3 times. I will say you really have to be dedicated and have a lot of patience because it does take a lot of time, if you do multiple parts of your body, but I do think I notice my leg hair growing back more slowly. After 3 more treatments, I should be able to give a more accurate assessment. The machine does get hot on your skin sometimes but overall, it's pretty painless. If this ends up working, it will have been worth all the hard work.

Okay, I have waxed, I have sugared, I have shaved, I have even tried electrolysis. I have brown skin and brown hair, so I haven't been able to get laser treatment. I was super excited about this! I haven't stuck with a full 7-week cycle because it takes me way longer than the booklet says to do a treatment. It takes me 1-1/2 hours, in part because the machine overheats (I probably need to send mine back) since I tried to use the epilator attachment. The longest I have stuck with it is 3 weeks in a row. I have done two weeks twice as well. My hair is significantly reduced, especially in my underarms (but I waxed like crazy there so I have a weird growth pattern). My leg hair also grows in much finer than it used to. If I don't shave for a whole week it won't drive me crazy--that's a miracle right there. The worst: I had ingrowns in my bikini area like I can't remember. So painful. The worst rash ever of all my hair removal. It doesn't hurt me, but the light bothers me a little bit when I do my lip and chin, even with goggles and sunglasses over. I would recommend this, but I would tell you to watch for ingrowns, the light, and tell you to block out a lot of time to sit still with your goggles on.
