I don’t know if this is working but I’m happy with my skin. It could be due to this product or a combination of everything I do. I will say that this product has been very gentle on my skin. I use every other night and have not had any redness or peeling or flaking.

Wonderful & no xanthan gum
I’ve been using this for 5 months and am noticing a positive difference in tone, texture, and fine lines. My younger sisters asked what I’ve been using. I’ve struggled with dermatitis and red skin and I’m so glad to find a retinoid can use. I used tretinoin for 7 months and constantly had rough skin texture. Not with this! Just healthy, glowing skin. I’ve also recently realized that all of the products I can use successfully do not contain xanthan gum (including this one), and I’ve tried SO many. Avene, if you are reading this, please don’t ever change this formula!

Different from Retinol
I'm been using skinmedica retinol .5 almost everynight and had pretty good tolerance. I read about the efficacy of retinal and wanted to try. Hard to compare if I went to skinmedica .1 to this but the Avene is stronger. I'm happy with both and tolerating ok - couple try days where I took a break for a day or two and then jumped right in.

Gentle but Effective
I like this product - it really softens my laugh lines quickly and I see my skin being more plump and smooth within 2 weeks of using it. It is also non-irritating. I didn't experience any peeling, redness, or flaking even though I ramped up to using it every other night quickly. It causes a bit dryness but that's expected for all retinoid products. I would recommend it!

While I cannot speak to results with confidence, I enjoy this product. I haven't experienced any irritation, even with daily use and using it on my neck and around my eyes. I’ve been using another retinal product for some time, but decided to give this a try. I like it so far, but it’s too early to tell if it is more effective than my other product. It is a bit stronger. I need to use it ever other day to avoid some irritation. But that’s not unusual with these products. I will be better able to tell when I use the full bottle.

I really like this way of applying retinol. I noticed far less dryness and skin irritation with this product, compared to some other retinol products I have used. One thing I want to point out though is that the product itself has an orange/yellow color to it so be mindful that it may transfer to your pillowcases if using a bedtime. I had issues with this.

Avene RetrinAL 0.1
I bought this retinol to replace a 0.5 retinol. But it was a big mistake as every time I used it my face got scratchy cuts. I used the RetrinAL eye cream and I don't have any issues. I have been using other retinol products for over 1.5 years. Not sure why this happens and very unhappy about this product.
