I've been using this as part of a two-step cleanse. I used the oil mostly to remove eye makeup, then follow with a gentle cleanser. It is not irritating, even to the eyes. It does not get off all stubborn eye makeup but works for light eye makeup.

I received a free small sized container of this, stuck it in my shower and didn’t use it for a long time. Late last winter my skin was feeling very dry so I thought, “I’ll try this” and I have never looked back. This product is gentle. Nothing I have ever used is this gentle and yet it cleans completely. My skin is so soft after washing my face. As strange as it sounds, my “senior” acne has all but disappeared. I have stopped using my other facial cleansers and use this for my entire body in the shower. I love this stuff!

Not an oil cleanser!
This is not a true oil cleanser so I won’t be repurchasing. It’s a gel that needs to be lathered. I see now that in the directions it does say lather but people don’t normally look at the directions when purchasing something. Oil cleansers are an oil that you use to remove makeup/sunscreen than you use water to emulsify & remove it then a second cleanser is used. This isn’t like that at all. It’s just like a regular gel cleanser. I’m glad I only got the travel size because I would have been even more disappointed.

I have been using Avene for several years now after my dermatologist suggested it would be good for my sensitive skin. This is the only product that keeps my face soft and does not cause a bad reaction. It’s anti- aging as well. I purchased this cleanser to use as my ‘first cleanse’ in a double cleanse process. It’s a very thick gel- unlike the ‘oil’ I was expecting. It doesn’t spread around my face very easily and doesn’t emulsify as much as I would have hoped it would. It does seem to cleanse the face nicely, but also burns my eyes. I should note that I don’t have eczema or psoriasis so I can’t comment on how it works for sensitive skin.
