Reviews For EltaMD UV Physical Broad Spectrum SPF 41 Lightly Tinted Mineral Sunscreen
I really wanted to like this sunscreen
I have used several of the Elta MD sunscreens. I decided to try this one since it has a slightly higher SPF than some of the others. The tint is okay. The consistency is a little dry for my skin and it easily settles into fine lines. I always wear makeup over it since my face is pasty white. This is where the problem comes in. No matter what I do, this sunscreen pills when makeup is applied over it. I have tried waiting a few minutes before applying my foundation, but it still pills. I’ve continued using the remainder of this tube, but I won’t be repurchasing.

Still searching for a substitute to EltaMD UV Elements Broad Spectrum SPF 44 Tinted Moisturizer
I tried this since my go-to SPF sunscreen was discontinued because I liked the % of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in this product vs. the recommended substitute. The negative reviews on the substitute to the Elements sunscreen is making me reluctant to give it a try. But, back to this particular sunscreen: it's just ok; it doesn't easily absorb into the skin and takes several minutes and rubbing to get it to blend in. Tint is a bit off for my skin tone but once it finally absorbs, it's fine but I do wish the old Elements formulation was available.

Elta MD tinted sunscreen
I have used the SPF 46 Elta MD for years. I decided to give this a try. Although it was labeled as tinted, it left me pale due to the white cast. I did not mind that it was not moisturizing, as I already use a moisturizer underneath the sunscreen. However, I wanted to use this for "no makeup days" and could not due to looking too pale. I will go back to my former product.

Mineral is Just Not For Me
This is one of the better mineral sunscreens I've tried. My issue with this, and mineral in general, is that it just doesn't wear as well as the non-physical sunscreens. I feel dry and, at the end of the day, it settles into creases more than I'd like. I think Elta makes great products, this one just wasn't for me.

not very easy to spread
this is very thick, so it's not very easy to spread, and feels like you need more of it to cover the whole face. the tint is nice though and skin looks glowy after

Anther great Elta MD sunscreen...but...
I have tried many of the eta MD sunscreens and feel they are the best on the market. I see them in every derm office. I have gravitated to the TINTED versions because then I usually dont wear foundation.Just a little eye concealer. HOWEVER, this one says "lightly tinted" ,not Tinted as the others. The zinc is still faintly visible and I look pale. s this is just a color preference.

Leaves a white cast on my brown skin
This has nice texture but is very thick. It leaves a white cast on my brown/ tan skin u fortunately. I won’t be purchasing again.

Not my favorite Elta sunscreen
The tint is okay and blends in with skin tone. However, smoothing it on skin creates little bumps and pieces of sunscreen which do not leave a smooth surface.

Lovely matte finish, but too drying
I really wanted to make this my new go-to facial sunscreen. It has a nice matte finish and stays in your skin really well. I also like that it has water resistance, which is hard to find in a facial mineral sunscreen. However, like other reviewers experienced, after a week of using this daily my skin started flaking in my cheeks and forehead. It’s summer, and I’m sweating up a storm, plus I have combination skin, so it was such a surprise to see this happen. When I don’t use the sunscreen for a few days the flaking resolves. Such a bummer because other than this side effect I really prefer this sunscreen to any other I’ve tried. Will be falling back on Paula’s Choice mineral sunscreen again, which is not water resistant and does not adhere to the skin as well...

Excellent sunscreen
I have been using EltaMD sunscreen for several years. This one is called “light”, referring to the color. I prefer the one I used before. However this is still an excellent product. Even gives you some coverage.

Not in love
I’ve been using this sunscreen for about a month and like it alright. It causes my skin to be a little more dry than normal and wish the tint was a little darker.

Watch out for the white cast!
I bought this with the intent of wearing it without makeup due to the fact it is lightly tinted and spf 41. I was not expecting as much of a white cast as I got from it unfortunately. It took a couple minutes of really working it into the skin. It did settle into my fine lines and I can still see, after an hour of putting it on, a very slight cast. The formula itself is great, went on smoothly with slight drag. I have highly sensitive skin and it has not irritated me at all. I think this is a great product to wear under makeup as a spf and primer - the finish is slightly matte and not oily or greasy at all. I don’t recommend wearing it on its own unless you don’t mind the white cast. I will use when I wear makeup, however, I will not be repurchasing as there are better options for tinted spf.

Tint is too light
I used this sunscreen for a few weeks to see if I liked it. I wish it was a little more lotion like in consistency. This is a little too light for my skin tone and it shows up very ghostly looking. You can cover that with some makeup but if you wanted to wear it alone this is not the sunscreen for you. Especially, if you are medium to medium dark. I did end up getting some red bumps fro wearing this because its just too heavy. I have slightly oily skin.

Good protection
This physical sunscreen 41 has great Mineral active ingredients, but the tint is not for my skin tone, still shows some white cast. The texture is also a little thick for me. I prefer more natural looking options.

Ok not great
I tried this product thinking any of the physical EltaMD sunscreens are probably great. I have not tried this out in the sun yet but have been putting it on under my makeup in the winter to have SPF coverage year round. The tint is a good color for my skin, but it gets stuck in my pores and accentuates fine lines which was very surprising. I find myself reaching for my $12.00 Australian Gold tinted sunscreen almost every day, and I have no issues with it showing my pores or fine lines. I will try this EltaMD product again in the summer though to see how it does against the harmful rays.

EltaMD tinted moisturizer with sunscreen
I normally use Obagi tinted moisturizer, which is unavailable until at least December, so & I have used EltaMD before & I thought I would give it a try again. Well, I guess I know now why I haven’t ordered it again. It is very thin, and very light in color. It’s hard for me to believe it has a SPF of 41 when it is so thin. I normally don’t have to put on any additional foundation (when I use the Obagi) except for going out or times when I’m dressing up a little more than normal, but I probably will not buy EltaMD tinted moisturizer again.

Good stuff but could be perfect
This is one of my favorite physical sunscreens except for the tint. I love the ingredients, the protection, the texture. It's one of he few sunscreens that feels soothing rather than irritating to my rosacea. However, it is too dark for me. If I want to look decent I have to wear another (untinted) sunscreen instead of this one. Since this is clearly only good for a medium skin tone over the years I have asked EltaMD to add both a lighter and a darker version to the range, and most recently I asked them to just offer a non-tinted version to wear under foundation. In all cases, I was told they have no plans to do so. Boo!

Good Sunscreen but Drying
After using the Elta UV Sport body sunscreen successfully, I purchased this for my sensitive, rosacea-prone skin. I spend a lot of time outdoors, wear sunscreen year round and am always searching for the product with the sweet spot that includes protection and good skin look/feel. This UV Physical SPF 41 sunscreen does protect my skin from burning, but I've found it to be drying and not a good tint color for fair skin with pink undertones.

I like that this is not tested on animals and uses only physical sunscreens, but...
The pros are that this product is not tested on animals, it uses only physical sunscreens (zinc and titanium dioxide), and the tint is natural for my skin color (I am Caucasian). Unfortunately, the high silicone content does not work for me, as it never seems to fully set but rather leaves a weird slippery film that rubs off on anything that I touch if I use the appropriate amount.

Want to love it more than I do
This stuff goes on beautifully. Gives decent coverage. It's not as universal as I would like (it's lighter than I am), but it's okay. What I don't like: I find it settles in the creases of my face (I didn't realize my neck was getting that creasey, but I guess it is!) a couple of hours after I put it on. Maybe it's just me? I don't use much at all, have tried it with moisturizer and without.
