Best mineral and gentle sunscreen that does not burn, sting, and irritate my face! I have had skin problems on my face for years (rosacea, eczema, skin peeling as a result of contact dermatitis), and tried almost every gentle mineral sunscreen and none of them are as gentle and effective as this sunscreen. It does not sting when I put it on and I feel 100% protected when wearing this sunscreen. It doesn't dry my skin out and I have dry sensitive skin. It does leave a slight white cast, but it is worth it for how good it works and how gentle it is on your skin!

I was excited for this because it says it’s for sensitive skin however, I felt a burning sensation and had to wash it off immediately. Definitely not for sensitive skin. I’ve used this sunscreen for the past 7 years and I love it. It can leave a white sheen on the skin but I make sure not to apply too much and it will blend perfect. It also sits on top of the skin instead of soaking into the skin. This is why I purchase this particular brand and formula. When I’m going into the ocean, I apply a bit more so that I’m sure to have full coverage and the white sheen doesn’t bother me at all. I’d rather not have the wrinkles. No breakouts!! Have used EltaMD Sunscreen SPF 46 happily for 25 yrs. Because it has been discontinued, I used this product. I am allergic due to the added ingredient to make it water-resistant. Even if I wasn't allergic, I wouldn't use it because I don't want anything I put on my face to be water-resistant. In addition, they have reduced the size of the product to a trial size amount for the same price. Truly a bad decision to discontinue the other product.

Very effective but a bit white on the face
I'm fair and need protection after 70 years of living at the seashore during summer months. My dermatologist highly recommends Elta MD products. Typically, I use the SPF 40 face sunscreen, occasionally the 45. Both are easily absorbed. This 47 is for face and body and is a bit sticky. The zinc oxide does show slightly. Removing it from my face required a good cleanser, followed by a clarifying lotion. I do recommend for those who need excellent sun protection.
