Unattractive finish
What I like about Jane products is that they are also a skin treatment. I have used the mineral powder and mineral powder foundation for years and love them both. This product, once applied, seems to sink into the face, emphasizing lines, and the finish is simply not natural or appealing. I am giving two stars only for coverage.

I like this foundation. I find I need to layer it to get the coverage I need. Also, it is best to put it on clean, dry skin (for me), no moisturizer. Those who find it "drying" uh... well, what do you think matte means? I have dry, 62 year old skin, but this works well for me without any primer. It is not moisturizing but just comfortable on my skin. I didn't give it 5 stars because of the coverage, but it does say in the description "medium to light coverage" buildable.

Just what I wanted for summer
This is a fabulous product from Jane Iredale. I have a lot of her makeup - the loose and pressed powder, among other products. I really wanted something for the hot and humid summer months that wouldn't make my face/skin feel heavy and coated with makeup. The powders are just too much when it's 80+ degrees and humid (in my personal opinion). This product is light and matches my skin tone perfectly (I'm an M7 and a very small amount does the trick)! I have been a faithful user of Jane Iredale foundations for many years. My preferred has been pure pressed powder but tried one of her liquid foundations few years back and did not like it. Decided to try Beyond Matte and can’t say that I am thrilled with it I don’t get the coverage I need and it settles into my wrinkles and I am constantly “patting” the creases where it”cakes” up. I use JI Smoith Affair primer prior to application. Can deal with coverage but not how it does with this senior citizens wisdom furrows
