Good product but not as effective as I thought
It did help fade some discoloration but no more than other less expensive products I've used. It probably works better if you use the entire system. I got this product as a gift without any of the other products in the line.

Easy to apply
Unlike the #5, this day time and night time formula is much easier to apply and has no awful smell. I add it after my Vitamin CE and then add moisturizer and sunscreen. I believe this is helping a bit, but I'll need to finish the full bottle.

This is my second time using this product. The cream glides on smoothly, absorbs rather quickly, and has no scent. I use it twice a day and have not experienced any peeling of my skin. However, I have yet to see any improvement on two stubborn dark spots on my face. I’m hoping for better results by the time I’m done with this bottle. Otherwise I will not be buying it again.

I am not sure how I feel about the hydroquinone-free Obagi Clear. I was a long time user of the original Obagi Clear and liked they way it worked with my moisturizer and sunscreen, This formula doesn't seem to work as well. Also, I haven't been using it long enough to see if my hyperpigmentation stays at bay.

Honestly been using Obagi for years now. The clear 3 with Hydroquinone was way better than this one. I notice its not clearing my spots up faster than the other version. Bought it again as it will be my 2nd time using it... If no real improvement then need to find another solution. Hate the original one was discontinued. Why folks can't let good things be.

Results after 6 months of daily use
My dermatologist recommended the Nu-Derm Clear FX to help lighten the hyperpigmentation and sun spots around the corners of my eye and left cheek. She said she uses it daily for the past 5 years, and I can see her skin is really clear and even colored. So I decided to try. What I liked: 1. The product actually works! First 2 months I did spot treatment. While those sunspots never completed faded away, they have gotten lighter. Then after 2 months I spread it all over my face. It really evened out the very minor blemishes from acne scars. 2. Small tube easy to travel with without worrying about product spilling. 3. No weird smell. It''s just very mild and neutral. 4. Does not leave a greasy feel after application. What I DIDN'T like 1. the consistency of the product. It comes out of the jar like elders glue. Its a bit sticky and hard to spread onto the face. It is got this slight thickness to it. It''s definitely not a watery based lotion. 2. The case has no way for you to unscrew the cap. Plus it's a hard case and since it's not a watery consistency. there will be a lot of waste, meaning much won't be able to come out once you run low. It's not like toothpaste where you can push and squeeze more out from the bottom of the tube. Here once you've been using it for awhile and it feels "light" you probably have to just toss it and never know truly how much is left. Those reasons made me give this product 3 stars. Since I've only been using for 6 months and the spots are still there, just slightly lighter, I have to wait for longer period to see if I can bump this to 4 stars.

I have used the Obagi system in the past and returned to it because I had excellent results. I think that the removal of hydroquinone has negatively impacted the effectiveness of fading brown spots. Brown spots are diminished, but with former use, they were removed by a factor of 98%. I continue to use the product because I have had good results in the overall texture and elasticity of my skin.
