When I first bought this, my intent was to use it only at night and use a lighter moisturizer during the day. But, I found that this was not too heavy to wear in the daytime too, so now I am using this 2x per day. As it gets hotter and more humid, I might switch back to a lighter moisturizer for summer but I don't anticipate that I will need to. This absorbs in well and doesn't leave a shiny finish.
