Best Retinol for sensitive skin
I was not able to use a retinal as I would get red and blotchy even with the lowest concentration. I decided to try SkinCeuticals .3 retinol and it has worked wonders. I started slowly using it 3x a week and gradually I was able to use it every night. I use a moisturizer after applying the retinol. In a few months I will try the .5 strength. Not all retinol’s are formulated equally. Prescription retinols from the dermatologist are usually stronger. Depending on the reason you’re using a retinol, (if it’s as an anti-aging treatment or for acne). It’s recommended to start with a low dose of the active ingredient. I’ve used prescription and over the counter retinol. In my opinion SkinCeuticals offers the best product of varying strengths. I started using 0.3% once a week with great results! This retinol is not harsh and excessively drying. It’s also not overly emollient like some prescription retinols that try to counter the drying effects. A little bit is all you need to cover your face and neck before bedtime. When you wake up and wash your face your skin tone is even and all you need is a moisturizer with sunscreen and your all set! I highly recommend all products by SkinCeuticals, but if you have to chose only one, this is it!

I tried another brand of Retinol and constantly had severe dryness and flaky skin even when using only twice a week. I have used this now for about 3 weeks and I have not had much dryness or flaky skin, but I can tell it is working. My skin feels softer and smoother. It looks more even toned.
